ABOUT PEPPER PYROS

Hello Fellow Pyros!


For some reason, I'm a bit obsessed with spicy food. Maybe because I didn't grow up eating a lot of it, or maybe at some point a super spicy Korean stew or South Asian curry turned something on in my brain. The sensorial experience I got from the flavors combined with the capsaicin was incredible! I craved more heat in my food, and needed more hot sauce in my life.

Like the journey many people make from the mass produced to the artisanal, I went from the grocery store brands to the smaller batch sauces, and got hooked.

A few summers ago, I decided to start growing hot peppers and making my own hot sauce. Next came discoveries of sauces made in the Philly metro area where I now live. One morning I woke up with the realization that I needed to help promote craft hot sauce!

Now, when I'm keeping an eye on the peppers growing in the garden, or planning my next sauce recipe, I think about how crafting these sauces really is something special. And Pepper Pyros is my way to pay homage to, and promote, the local hot sauce craftspeople that create these flavorful and fantastic sauces. 

And, most importantly, to serve the awesome community that enjoys them.
