Tangerine Nightmare — Weaksauce Philly. Five ingredients, nothing hiding: tangerine juice, habaneros, vinegar, sugar, salt. Medium, citrus-forward and bright enough to wake up a hot dog or a plate of wings. Vegan.
Spicy Jawn — Mammoth Sauce Co. Cayenne and habanero balanced against mustard seed, celery salt and bay spices. Hot, savory and spiced rather than sweet. Vegan.
La Muerte — Hotbox Philly (now Faiya). Carolina Reapers and Caribbean habaneros, with the reapers grown right here in PA and NJ. Very Hot, and built on enough tomato and red bell pepper that it still tastes like something on the way down.
